The inspirations and basis for my works are gathered in the surroundings and experiences of my travels and personal history. The resulting images throughout my works come from this "personal vocabulary"; a collection of images, specific through personal association, relationship, and interpretation.

Deepening this personal vocabulary, I continue to work with handmade paper. My experiences in papermaking, as with the images in my works, have particular meaning to me, but also provide the framework for the viewer's self-constructed interpretation.

While some may view these works as autobiographical, I have done my best to allow the stories to tell themselves. These images provide basis without the boundaries of narrative. They give the viewer interpretation through their own experiences and connotations. It is my hope that this coupling of image and individual interpretion provide meaning and personal relevance for the viewer.
